Uttar Pradesh accelerates deployment of 1,336 trained construction workers to Israel

The process to deploy 1,336 construction workers from Uttar Pradesh to Israel has been expedited following the completion of specialised training, officials said. The initiative is being coordinated from Lucknow with the objective of linking skilled workers from the state to overseas employment.

The selected workers have received training in modern construction techniques, safety standards, and work practices to ensure smooth adjustment during overseas employment. The training covered building construction, shuttering, steel fixing, tiling, plastering, and other technical work. Workers were also trained in language basics, discipline, and workplace rules.

Officials said there is high demand for skilled workers in Israel’s construction sector. Based on this demand, workers were selected through a transparent process with the involvement of the Uttar Pradesh government and related agencies. The selected workers will be provided wages, a safe working environment, and other facilities in accordance with stipulated terms.

The state government said the initiative is expected to increase workers’ income and improve the economic condition of their families. After returning from overseas employment, the workers are expected to apply their experience and skills within the state, benefiting the local construction industry. Income earned abroad is also expected to indirectly support the state’s economy.

Administrative officials said similar programmes will be launched in the future to connect more workers with international employment opportunities. Training programmes and agreements are being prepared in line with demand from different countries.
