Darbhanga: The body of 12-year-old Roshan Das was recovered from a garden in Dekuli village, under Bahadurpur police station area of Darbhanga district, Bihar. According to the police, the accused, Sanjay Kumar Sharma, attacked him with bricks and stones in the murder, attempting to disfigure his identity. A dispute over milk money and family animosity are suspected to be the reasons behind the incident. The deceased's son had gone to get milk on Saturday and did not return. The police have arrested the accused and had a post-mortem conducted, while a detailed investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Case of Dispute Over Milk Money
Roshan Das's family members stated that their son often went to Sanjay Kumar Sharma's house to deliver milk. On Saturday afternoon, Roshan went to collect money and did not return thereafter. Later, when a search was conducted for him, no trace was found. On Sunday, a woman informed the villagers about a body lying in the garden, after which the body was recovered.
In its preliminary investigation, the police indicated that the murder might be a result of personal animosity. Villagers claim that there were alleged illicit relations between Roshan's elder brother and the accused's wife. A dispute and tension had been ongoing regarding this, leading to suspicions that the murder was committed out of this animosity.
Arrest and Interrogation of the Accused
Considering the gravity of the case, the police have arrested the main accused, Sanjay Kumar Sharma. In addition, three other individuals have also been taken into custody for questioning. The Station House Officer stated that significant information about the incident is likely to emerge from the interrogation of the accused.
The police are now investigating when and how the murder plot was orchestrated. Initial investigations suggest that the murder was premeditated. The police stated that a thorough investigation of the entire case is underway, and other accomplices of the accused are also being identified.
Legal Action Following Post-Mortem Report
The body has been sent to DMCH for a post-mortem examination. The exact cause of death and details of injuries will only become clear after the post-mortem report is received. The police stated that legal action under murder charges will be fully pursued only after the report is available.
