Indore: A shocking incident unfolded on Wednesday night in the Nandlalpura area. Approximately 22 transgender individuals collectively consumed phenyl in a closed room. The incident caused a stir in the locality. With the help of local residents and the police, all were immediately transported to MY Hospital. Doctors reported that everyone's condition is now stable and no one is in danger.
Police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are interrogating all involved parties. According to preliminary information, a major tragedy was averted due to timely medical assistance.
Internal Dispute Escalates Tensions within the Transgender Community
According to information, this drastic step was taken due to an internal dispute among the transgender individuals. In Nandlalpura, two prominent transgender factions have long been engaged in opposition and mutual accusations against each other. One faction is led by Sapna Guru, while the other is led by Seema and Payal Guru.
Prior to these recent events, Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Tripathi of the Kinnar Akhara had also visited Indore on Tuesday and met with officials regarding the dispute. Earlier, an SIT (Special Investigation Team) had also been formed to investigate this dispute, but the investigation had not been completed.
Transgender Individuals Block Traffic at Nandlalpura Chowk
Following the collective consumption of phenyl, one faction of the transgender individuals descended upon Nandlalpura Chowk and began protesting. They blocked traffic, leading to long queues of vehicles on the road. Witnessing the commotion, the police persuaded them to clear the blockade.
Local residents reported that the incident continued for a considerable time, creating a tense atmosphere in the surrounding area. Police stated that no information about any violence or serious injuries had been received.
Treatment Continues for 22 Transgender Individuals at MY Hospital
Doctors at MY Hospital reported that treatment for all 22 transgender individuals is ongoing, and their condition remains stable. Physicians stated that timely assistance averted a major tragedy. Currently, all patients are under observation at the hospital.
Police stated that transgender individuals from all factions are being interrogated, and the investigation aims to determine what other reasons might be behind the incident of phenyl consumption.
