Rahimuddin alias Haiber, the former district president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in Kishanganj district of Bihar, is once again in the news. Haiber is facing serious allegations of embezzlement of government funds. In this matter, an FIR was registered against him in 2014 at the Thakurganj police station under case number 188/14. He is accused of misusing his position to not only embezzle government funds but also illegally acquire property.
As the matter gained momentum and with the anticipation of the 2025 assembly elections, AIMIM, displaying organizational strictness, has expelled Rahimuddin from the party. The party's state president, Akhtarul Iman, has also instructed him to respond to the allegations within a week. If he does not provide an explanation within the stipulated time, further organizational action will be taken against him.
Investigation into Illegal Property Intensifies
The police have now become active in this entire matter. A list of five people who have illegally acquired property in Kishanganj district has been prepared, in which Rahimuddin's name is prominently included. This list has been sent to the police headquarters, and now the district administration is preparing to take the next big step in this matter.
The administration has initiated the process of filing a proposal in the court to confiscate the property acquired from the crime. Along with Rahimuddin, the other four accused are also involved in drug trafficking, prostitution, and other government scams. It is believed that this action will be a major and strict step towards curbing corruption and illegal activities in the state.
Efforts to Save the Party's Image
The top leadership of AIMIM, taking timely action, has shown Rahimuddin the door. This decision is being seen as an attempt to save the party's image and send a positive message to the public. Rahimuddin was previously in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), but he left the party shortly after and joined AIMIM. Later, he was also made the district president of Kishanganj.
In political circles, this development is being seen as a strict political cleanup before the assembly elections. While the police and administration are engaged in legal action, the party is also sending a message that it will not tolerate any kind of negligence within the organization.
