Entertainment News: Nandamuri Balakrishna's highly anticipated film ‘Akhanda 2’ was scheduled to release in theaters on December 5th, but its release has now been postponed, which has come as a big shock to fans. Reason for 'Akhanda 2' Release Postponement
According to media reports, the film's release has been halted following an order from the Madras High Court. The matter is related to a long-standing legal dispute between Eros International Media Limited and 14 Reels Plus. The court ordered that 'Akhanda 2' cannot be released in theaters, on digital platforms, or via satellite broadcast until Eros is paid the outstanding amount of 28 crore rupees + 14% interest.
Eros argued that allowing the film to be released without clearing the outstanding payment, given that 14 Reels Plus LLP is an extension of 14 Reels Entertainment, would provide the promoters an opportunity to evade their financial liabilities and profit. The court imposed a stay on this, giving clear instructions that the film's release would remain stalled until the payment is complete.
The Film Features a Grand Cast of Stars
Fans had considerable enthusiasm for 'Akhanda 2'. Along with Nandamuri Balakrishna, Harshaali Malhotra, who was loved as Munni in 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', was also set to appear in the film. Her presence was further increasing the film's hype. Fans expressed disappointment on social media and concern over the cancellation of the film's paid premieres. The production house appealed to fans to remain patient and promised to share a new release date for the film soon.
