Akhilesh Yadav Attacks BJP, Recalls 'Toti' Theft Case. On GST Cut and Education-Employment, Says Public Will Get Justice. Upon Formation of SP Government, Quality Education and Employment Will Be Ensured.
UP: Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the Uttar Pradesh government. Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, he stated that the 'Toti' (faucet) theft case can never be forgotten by him. He clearly said that this is not just his personal resentment but the voice of the public.
Akhilesh Yadav named the powerful officer in this case, Avnish Awasthi, and said that both the officers and the government are responsible for such incidents. The SP chief emphasized that both the government and its officers should be aware of this.
Accusation of Electoral Trickery Against BJP
Akhilesh Yadav said that he has been counting the remaining days of the BJP government since Janmashtami, and now only 493 days are left. He claimed that to sustain their power, this government has an electoral trick involving officials, the government, and the Election Commission. If the Election Commission is also biased, then to whom will the public appeal for justice? Akhilesh Yadav alleged that Election Commission officials send covert codes to increase BJP's votes.
Questions on GST (Goods and Services Tax) Cut
Raising questions on the reduction of GST rates during the press conference, the SP chief said that GST has been reduced only with the Bihar elections in view. However, this will not benefit the common public, nor will it reduce profiteering. He clarified that this step has been taken for electoral gains, and the public has already understood this. Akhilesh said that the government only puts on a show, but its actual policies are not in the interest of the public.
Pledge on Teachers' Day
On the occasion of Teachers' Day, Akhilesh Yadav announced that education and employment will be given the highest priority upon the formation of an SP government. He stated that the current government is preventing children from studying and has closed down 27,000 primary schools. People from the 69,000 teacher recruitment are forced to protest. The SP chief said that under his government, quality education will be ensured, and people will be able to live with dignity and have better lives.
Criticism of the Organization
Akhilesh Yadav also raised questions on the lathi charge incident in Barabanki. He said that while the BJP may be the world's largest party, it is saddening to see the suppression of children within its organization. Referring to the 'All India Video of Beating' that went viral on social media, he said that this is a cause for concern for any democratic system.
