Last Updated: 18-11-2025

Prayagraj — The Allahabad High Court has extended the interim relief granted to former Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki in an extortion case. The court has given the state government another opportunity to file its response and has extended the stay on the trial court's proceedings until December 17, 2025. This order was issued by the single bench of Justice Sameer Jain.

Previously, this relief was granted on October 13, and it has now been extended.

Irfan Solanki has sought the quashing of the entire proceedings of the case in his petition. He claims that the land, which the complainant alleged was encroached upon, is not owned by the complainant. This case dates back to December 2022. It is alleged that Solanki and others attempted to seize farmer Vimal Kumar's land and extorted money.
