Entertainment: Ameesha Patel, who debuted in Bollywood with the film 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' opposite Hrithik Roshan, was quite prominent in 2000. She worked with big stars in major films like 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha', 'Humraaz', and 'Mangal Pandey', and made a name for herself through her acting prowess. Recently, Ameesha revealed that being part of any competition or camp is not essential for a star.
In the same conversation, the actress, who created a sensation at the box office with her role as Sakeena in Gadar 2, also expressed her views, taking a dig at the actors of today's generation.
Ameesha Patel's Bollywood Debut and Journey
Ameesha Patel began her career with the film 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' opposite Hrithik Roshan. Following this, she worked in many major films like 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha', 'Humraaz', and 'Mangal Pandey', winning the hearts of the audience. A notable aspect of her career was working with big stars such as Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Aamir Khan.
In an interview, Ameesha Patel said that it is not necessary to be part of any camp or parties in the film industry. She stated, "I was not from any camp. I did not smoke, drink alcohol, or butter up anyone to get work. The work I got was due to my talent. The audience always gave me love. This is what is important, not which camp you belong to."
She further added that she sometimes felt bad seeing that she deserved a role but didn't get it because she didn't attend parties or join any camp. However, she is happy that she did not have to be a part of such politics.
Dig at Star Kids
Ameesha also sent a clear message to the star kids of the current generation. She said that today's star kids are entering the industry by being part of parties and camps, but the box office success of their films often does not meet expectations. Many star kids' films are not even releasing in theatres and they have to debut on OTT platforms.
"The audience doesn't care which camp you are from. People just want to see good work. Many star kids like Suhana Khan, Ibrahim Ali Khan, and Khushi Kapoor have debuted on OTT platforms instead of the big screen. This clearly means that success doesn't come solely from parties and networking," Ameesha said.
