Lakshmi Manchu Breaks Silence on ED Summon Amidst Online Betting Probe

Telugu actress Lakshmi Manchu recently came into the spotlight when she was summoned by the ED. According to the investigation agency, she was allegedly accused of supporting online betting apps that illegally raised money. Following this case, Lakshmi Manchu found herself embroiled in controversy.

Entertainment: The name of renowned South Indian film industry actress Lakshmi Manchu recently surfaced in the news in connection with a money laundering case linked to online betting apps. In this matter, she was summoned by the ED (Enforcement Directorate). After maintaining silence on this controversy for a long time, Lakshmi Manchu has now shared her thoughts for the first time.

Lakshmi Manchu's Reaction in an Interview

The actress recently clarified her position in an exclusive interview with Pooja Talwar. She stated, "You know, it's an ED meeting. I find it very strange that our government would go after that person. I think, brother, let's see who started this." Lakshmi further added that she was quite distressed due to the misrepresentation of the case.

She said, "I was very distressed because people say anything, and what we did is something else. Poor thing, they are genuinely investigating where the money is going. 100 more celebrities do this. They show me some other celebrity who has done this, and then they come to me, right? It's just a matter of one minute."

Online Betting and ED Investigation

Recently, the ED has intensified its investigation into cases of illegal money laundering through online betting. In this matter, apart from Lakshmi Manchu, several other South Indian and Bollywood stars have also come under the scanner. According to ED sources, these celebrities were suspected of promoting online betting platforms like JungleRummy, Winzo, and Lotus365. Many celebrities had also promoted these apps.

During the investigation, it was found that illegal money worth crores of rupees was transacted through these platforms. However, the case is currently under investigation, and no accused has been convicted yet. Apart from Lakshmi Manchu, prominent personalities like Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, and Vijay Deverakonda were also under investigation in this case. Sources say that all these stars had promoted these online betting platforms at some point, raising suspicion about the possibility of illegal fund circulation.
