Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Haridwar by road from Rishikesh during his visit to Uttarakhand. Upon arrival, he visited Harihar Ashram, the Acharyapeeth of Shri Panchdashnam Juna Akhara, where he met the Peethadhishwar of Juna Akhara, Swami Avdheshanand Giri Maharaj.
At Harihar Ashram, Amit Shah and Swami Avdheshanand Giri Maharaj held discussions focused on national awakening, social harmony, cultural consciousness, and the restoration of spiritual values in society. The interaction lasted for approximately half an hour, during which views were also exchanged on public welfare, social unity, and strengthening cultural heritage.
Mahant Mandaleshwar Swami Lalitanand Giri, Haridwar District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, and Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Singh Dobal welcomed the Union Home Minister at the ashram. In view of the visit, extensive security arrangements were put in place from the highway to the Kankhal area.
After his interaction with saints and spiritual leaders, Amit Shah visited Patanjali Yogpeeth, where he received a traditional welcome. He toured the Patanjali Acharyakulam and interacted with students studying there. Teachers applied tilak and welcomed him in accordance with Indian traditions. On Thursday morning, Amit Shah is scheduled to formally inaugurate the Patanjali Emergency and Critical Care Hospital established at Patanjali Yogpeeth. The hospital is equipped with advanced medical facilities and is intended to benefit patients from Uttarakhand as well as other states. Except for cancer surgery, facilities for nearly all types of surgeries are available at the hospital, with plans to introduce cancer surgery in the future.
The Patanjali Emergency and Critical Care Hospital has arrangements for complex surgeries related to the brain, heart, and spine, supported by modern technology and specialist doctors. Diagnostic facilities including MRI, CT scan, X-ray, ultrasound, and pathological tests are available within the same to ensure timely and comprehensive treatment for critical patients.
Following the hospital inauguration, Amit Shah will participate in the centenary year celebrations organised by the Akhil Vishva Gayatri Parivar. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will also be present at the event. Earlier on Wednesday, the Union Home Minister attended the centenary celebrations of Kalyan magazine at Gita Bhavan in Rishikesh and stayed overnight at Patanjali Yogpeeth.
Several dignitaries were present during these programmes, including yoga guru Swami Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Member of Parliament Trivendra Singh Rawat, Garhwal MP Anil Baluni, and Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat.
