Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the Annual Credit Plan for 2026-27 during the 235th meeting of the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC), held at the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat. The meeting focused on increasing credit flow across sectors and accelerating economic activity in the state.
Senior officials from the banking sector, financial institutions and the state government participated in the meeting. Discussions centered on strengthening credit distribution strategies for the 2026-27 financial year and supporting the state's economic growth objectives.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed credit availability for agriculture, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), self-help groups (SHGs) and tenant farmers. He also discussed financial inclusion, investment promotion and sector-wise lending with banking representatives.
The Annual Credit Plan, which outlines strategies for providing financial assistance to productive sectors of the economy, was a key agenda item during the deliberations.

Bankers informed the Chief Minister that loans worth approximately ₹3,86,249 crore were extended to the agriculture sector during the 2025-26 financial year.
According to figures presented at the meeting, the MSME sector received credit amounting to ₹1,17,357 crore. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of continued financial support to small and medium enterprises, stating that the sector plays a significant role in the state's industrial development.
Bankers also reported that a total of ₹5,19,693 crore was disbursed under the priority sector category, which includes agriculture, MSMEs, education, housing, social infrastructure and weaker sections.
During the meeting, banking officials stated that Andhra Pradesh's credit distribution level has reached 137 percent compared with other states in South India. They said the figure reflected b banking activity and investment in the state.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to prioritize credit availability for self-help groups and tenant farmers. He urged financial institutions to expand support for agriculture, entrepreneurship, startups, rural development and employment generation.
Naidu said active cooperation from banks is essential for promoting investment, industrial development and economic activity in the state. He also emphasized the importance of b coordination between the government and the banking sector to support economic growth.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the state government and financial institutions, including the Chief Secretary, representatives of the Union Finance Ministry, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), NABARD and officials from public and private sector banks.
