Auspicious Shravan: August 8, 2025 - Auspicious Yogas, Nakshatras, and Rahu Kaal Timings

New Delhi: The auspicious month of Shravan is underway, and August 8, 2025, holds special significance from a religious perspective. The Chaturdashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Shravan, falling on a Friday, will last until the afternoon, after which the Purnima Tithi will commence. The Panchang for this day is filled with several auspicious yogas and nakshatras, making it suitable for religious activities and observing fasts.

Tithi, Day, and Paksha Status

On August 8, 2025, the Chaturdashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Shravan will be in effect until 2:13 PM. Immediately following this, the Purnima Tithi will begin, which is associated with the Sawan Purnima Vrat and the Raksha Bandhan festival. The day is Friday, considered special for worshipping Goddess Lakshmi.

Speaking of the Paksha, it is Shukla Paksha, symbolizing the bright form of the moon and considered favorable for auspicious activities.

Confluence of Yoga and Nakshatra

On this day, Ayushman Yoga will be present, lasting throughout the day and night until 4:09 AM on August 9th. This yoga is considered a symbol of health, longevity, and energy.

Additionally, the Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra will be in effect until 2:28 PM. The Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra is considered a symbol of stability and positive energy. This nakshatra is associated with Lord Vishnu, the lord of the gods, and actions performed under its influence gain long-term stability.

Abhijit Muhurat

On August 8th, the Abhijit Muhurat falls in the middle of the day, from 11:59 AM to 12:53 PM.

The Abhijit Muhurat is considered the most auspicious time to begin any task without consulting the Panchang. It is considered extremely auspicious, especially for business endeavors, starting new projects, or performing any religious rituals.

Changes Related to Sawan Purnima and Raksha Bandhan

Although the Purnima Tithi will commence from 2:12 PM on August 8th, the festival of Raksha Bandhan is celebrated according to the Udaya Tithi (sunrise time).

Therefore, the Sawan Purnima Vrat and the Raksha Bandhan festival will be celebrated on August 9, 2025. Panchangs clearly instruct that Udaya Tithi is paramount in determining festivals.
