Rahul Gandhi Accuses Karnataka Elections of Rigging, EC Demands Proof

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the Karnataka elections of being rigged. The Election Commission has asked him for an affidavit with proof. Rahul said that his statement is his oath.

Rahul EC Challenge: Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has stirred up political activity by accusing the Karnataka Assembly elections of voter list fraud. He stated that many names have incorrect house numbers, and in some places, even the father's name is wrong. Rahul Gandhi says this fraud was planned systematically, raising questions about fair elections.

Alleged Evidence Presented at Press Conference

While speaking to the media on Thursday, Rahul Gandhi also shared some documents and figures related to the alleged fraudulent voting that took place during the Karnataka Assembly elections. He claimed that all this came to light from the Election Commission's own data. The Congress MP also said that many cases of duplicate voting have come to light in the Bangalore Central Lok Sabha seat.

Strong Reaction from the Election Commission

The Election Commission has taken the matter seriously after Rahul Gandhi's allegations. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Karnataka has written a letter to Rahul Gandhi clarifying that if the facts he has claimed are correct, then he will have to file an affidavit with proof.

The Election Commission has warned that if Rahul Gandhi makes such serious allegations, he must provide solid documents and a legally valid affidavit in support of his claims. Otherwise, he will have to withdraw his statements so that the public is not misled. The Commission has also given the Congress delegation time to meet between 1 PM and 3 PM on Friday.

Rahul Gandhi's Response: "This is my word"

Responding to this challenge from the Election Commission, Rahul Gandhi said, "I am a politician, and whatever I say to the public is my word. Whatever I am saying, I am saying it publicly; consider it my oath." He also added that the data he is showing is from the Election Commission itself, and the discrepancies in it are based on its official information.

Did the Election Commission Deny the Incorrect Data?

In his response, Rahul Gandhi also emphasized that the Election Commission has not yet called the data shown by him false. He said, "The Election Commission has not said that the voter list I have mentioned is wrong. If it is wrong, then why doesn't the Commission say that this information is fake? Because they also know that we are telling the truth."
