Maharashtra politics is once again in turmoil, as serious allegations regarding the Pune land scam have been leveled against Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and his son Parth Pawar.

Mumbai: Maharashtra politics has been rocked once again. Serious allegations have been made against the state's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and his son Parth Pawar concerning the much-discussed Pune Land Scam. The matter is rapidly taking on a political dimension, and now Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has issued a major statement on it.

Eknath Shinde stated that the Chief Minister is personally monitoring the case and the government will resolutely address any challenges that arise. Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar clarified the deal, stating that it has been canceled and no payment has been made.

What is the complete Pune Land Scam case?

This case is linked to approximately 40 acres (16.19 hectares) of land in Pune's Mundhwa area. It is alleged that this land, whose market value is stated to be around ₹1,800 crore, was purchased for merely ₹300 crore. The controversy began when it was revealed that Parth Pawar, son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, is a director in Amedia Holdings LLP, the company that bought the land.

According to sources, several government regulations were disregarded in this deal, and irregularities concerning stamp duty also came to light. While stamp duty of approximately ₹21 crore should have been paid on this transaction, the registration was allegedly done based on a valuation of only ₹500 crore.

Chief Minister is Keeping a Personal Eye – Eknath Shinde

Considering the seriousness of the matter, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra has formed an inquiry committee and requested reports on all related documents. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde told the media, "The Chief Minister himself is personally monitoring this entire matter. Whatever challenges or disputes arise, they will be resolved impartially. Ajit Dada has also clarified his position on this issue."

Shinde also stated that the state government operates on the principle of transparency and will not tolerate any irregularities. After the controversy deepened, Ajit Pawar held a press conference to clarify the entire matter. He said:

'This deal has now been completely canceled. Not a single rupee was paid to anyone in this transaction. We ourselves noticed some irregularities, which is why we canceled the transaction. I am ready for any investigation.'

Ajit Pawar stated that he always believes in transparency and legal processes. He contends that opposition parties are trying to capitalize on this issue politically, whereas the truth is that no financial loss occurred. According to Chief Minister's Office sources, a high-level committee has been formed to investigate this entire deal. The committee has been instructed to submit its report within 10 days.
