New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is soon to get a new national president. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh clarified that the party would announce a new president after the upcoming Bihar assembly elections are completed. He stated that there is no dispute or strife within the party on this issue and the organization is completely united.
Rajnath Singh provided this information in an interview given to a prominent news channel. During this, he also commented on the role of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), stating that the Sangh does not interfere in the party's political decisions but rather teaches party workers the spirit of national service and patriotism.
BJP's New President to be Decided After Bihar Elections
The Defense Minister made it clear that the BJP's new national president would be chosen after the Bihar assembly elections conclude. He said,
'The process in our party is clear. The president will be selected after the Bihar elections conclude. Everything in the organization is normal; there are no internal disagreements.'
Rajnath Singh's statement put an end to all speculations suggesting dissent at the party's top level regarding leadership change. Currently, JP Nadda serves as the BJP National President, and his tenure is nearing its end.

NDA Confident of Two-Thirds Majority in Bihar
Rajnath Singh also stated in the interview that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would return to power in Bihar once again. He claimed that the public sentiment is in favor of the NDA and that the alliance is likely to secure a two-thirds majority this time. He said,
'The people of Bihar have accepted the politics of development. Under Nitish Kumar's leadership, positive changes have occurred in the state. The public will ensure a huge majority victory for the NDA this time as well.'
Rajnath Singh reiterated that Nitish Kumar would remain the Chief Minister in Bihar and that the elections are being fought under his leadership. He outright rejected the confusion being spread by the opposition, stating that the alliance is firmly in the electoral arena under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar.
Bihar Elections Being Held in Two Phases
The Bihar assembly elections are being concluded in two phases this time — the first phase on November 6 and the second on November 11. Vote counting will take place on November 14. A tough contest is being observed between the NDA and the opposition alliance (Mahagathbandhan) in both phases. Rajnath Singh stated that the BJP has completed all preparations for the elections at the organizational level. Party workers are going door-to-door, informing the public about the achievements of the central and state governments.
Responding to election strategist-turned-leader Prashant Kishor and his party Jan Suraj, Rajnath Singh stated that their political influence is negligible. He commented, "Prashant Kishor holds no special political significance. The public understands who is contesting seriously and who has entered the field merely to cut votes."
