This new feature includes accident alerts, authoritative speed limits, two-wheeler navigation, and metro ticket integration. This change has been made considering the local needs of Indian users to make travel more secure and convenient. Users will now receive real-time suggestions and guidance directly within Maps during navigation.
Conversational Navigation and Smart Features
Google Maps is now available in India with Gemini AI support, providing drivers and commuters with a hands-free conversational experience. Users can now ask, "Where is the nearest petrol pump?" or "What's the parking situation like?" and the AI will respond instantly. Multi-step commands, such as setting a route to a restaurant or adding meeting reminders from Gmail and Calendar, will also be possible.
Gemini AI-powered features will make Maps navigation even easier and more intelligent. This update has been developed keeping in mind the local needs of Indian users, saving both time and effort in daily travel.

Improvements in Safety and Traffic Alerts
Google Maps has launched Accident-Prone Area Alerts in Gurugram, Cyberabad, Chandigarh, and Faridabad. These alerts notify drivers via visual and voice notifications. Additionally, authoritative speed limits, directly linked to local traffic departments, will be displayed in nine cities.
Through a partnership between Google and NHAI on national highways, real-time traffic, road closures, and amenity information will now be available in Maps. This will provide Indian drivers with a safe and smooth travel experience.
India-Specific Features and Metro Integration
A new Navatars feature has been added for two-wheeler riders, allowing users to choose custom icons resembling their bike or scooter. Flyover voice support will now be available in nine Indian languages, making navigation easier at complex intersections.
Google Wallet integration has been introduced for metro commuters. In Delhi, Bengaluru, Kochi, and Chennai, tickets can now be saved directly to Google Wallet and accessed from Maps during travel. This feature will also be available soon in Mumbai.
