Authorities in Ayodhya have begun special security and administrative preparations for the visit of President Droupadi Murmu during the Ram Navami fair. In view of the presidential programme, all VIP darshan arrangements at the temple will remain suspended on 19 March.

The administration has announced that no new VIP darshan passes will be issued on 19 March. Previously issued Sugam and Vishisht darshan passes will also not be valid on that day.

Officials said the decision has been taken due to the President’s scheduled visit and the need to maintain security and operational arrangements in the temple complex.

Authorities said stringent security measures will be enforced in and around the temple premises during the President’s visit. Special protocols will apply across the temple complex and surrounding areas.

Temporary adjustments have been introduced to regulate the movement of devotees and manage the darshan system.

Officials confirmed that all Sugam and Vishisht darshan passes issued earlier will be treated as cancelled for 19 March. Devotees who had planned visits using these passes will not be able to use them on that day.

The administration said the measure is intended to ensure smooth security management and administrative arrangements during the President’s visit.

Ayodhya receives a large number of devotees each year during Ram Navami celebrations. Authorities are making extensive preparations for the fair this year as well.

The administration estimates that lakhs of devotees may arrive in Ayodhya during the festival, prompting additional arrangements for crowd management and security.

Security agencies will increase their deployment in the temple complex and surrounding areas during the President’s visit.

Police and administrative officials are continuously reviewing preparations. A separate plan has also been prepared to maintain traffic management in the city.

Officials have urged devotees to follow the guidelines issued by the administration and visit the temple in accordance with the designated arrangements for darshan.

They also advised the public not to pay attention to rumours and to rely only on official information.

Ram Navami is celebrated in Ayodhya with religious observances marking the birth anniversary of Lord Ram. Special prayers and religious programmes are organised on the occasion.

Officials said all necessary arrangements are being made with consideration for both the convenience and security of devotees. Authorities stated that monitoring is being conducted at all levels to ensure the programme is conducted in an orderly and secure manner.
