The horror-comedy film Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi, has recorded steady box office growth in India and overseas markets within 11 days of its release.
The film has collected approximately ₹117.05 crore in India during this period. Its worldwide gross has crossed ₹188 crore, with trade reports indicating that it is approaching the ₹200 crore mark.
Growth Driven by Word-of-Mouth
The film did not register a major opening but saw sustained growth following positive audience response and word-of-mouth. By the end of its first week, the worldwide collection stood at around ₹135 crore. The momentum continued into the second week, with the total surpassing ₹161 crore by the ninth day.
Collections increased further over the weekend, crossing ₹175 crore on Sunday. By Monday, the film’s worldwide earnings reached approximately ₹188.75 crore.
Performance in Overseas Markets
The film has also reported consistent performance in international markets, with overseas collections exceeding ₹49 crore. The figures indicate continued traction for the horror-comedy genre among global audiences.
According to trade estimates, if the current trend continues, the film is likely to cross ₹200 crore in the near term.
Box Office Competition
Dhurandhar 2, featuring Ranveer Singh, had been performing steadily at the box office prior to the release of Bhooth Bangla. Following the latter’s release, competition has intensified, particularly in overseas markets with regard to screen allocation.
This shift has had a visible impact on the growth trajectory of Dhurandhar 2, with its pace of earnings slowing in comparison.
Trade analysts state that continued audience turnout for Bhooth Bangla could position the film to challenge existing box office benchmarks in the coming days.
