Two separate Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions will be taken out in Bhopal on Wednesday. In view of the processions from Mangalwara and Ashoka Garden, the traffic police have announced diversions on several routes from afternoon to night as required.
Two separate processions will be taken out from different locations in Bhopal on Wednesday on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. The procession organised by the All India Muslim Festival Committee is expected to draw a large number of community members. Organisers said the event will convey a message of Bhopal’s Ganga-Jamuni culture, mutual brotherhood and communal harmony.
The main procession in the Mangalwara area will begin at 2 pm from Bharat Talkies in Chhawani. It will pass through Central Library, Itwara, Islamapura, Bade Master Tiraha, Budhwara, Ibrahimapura, Moti Masjid and Peer Gate before concluding at Imami Gate Square. Teams from various akharas will also participate and present traditional art and displays of valour.
Committee patron Shamshual Hasan Balli has appealed for the processions starting from different locations to come together at Imami Gate. He urged social and Muslim organisations to join the event.
He said the committee’s objective is to keep the procession free from political intervention and maintain it as a platform for social and religious harmony. Organisers said the programme will serve as a medium to highlight Bhopal’s shared cultural heritage and mutual harmony.
According to the organisers, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has also been invited to participate in the procession. MP Alok Sharma, Waqf Board Chairman Sanwar Patel, former MP Alok Sanjar, the mayor, and representatives of social and Muslim organisations have also been invited.
