Prime Minister of Bhutan, Dasho Tshering Tobgay, is on a visit to Ayodhya. His aircraft landed at Maharshi Valmiki Airport on Friday morning, where he was given a grand welcome by Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi and district administration officials.
Ayodhya: In a significant step towards further strengthening the historic relations between India and Bhutan, Prime Minister of Bhutan, Dasho Tshering Tobgay, arrived in Ayodhya on Friday morning. He was accorded a red-carpet welcome at the Maharshi Valmiki International Airport. This visit is considered not only religiously significant but also poised to elevate diplomatic and cultural ties to new heights.
Grand Welcome at the Airport
As the Bhutanese Prime Minister's aircraft landed at Ayodhya Airport, he was welcomed by Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, senior officials from the district administration, and the state government. He was felicitated at the airport with bouquets and shawls in a traditional manner. Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay proceeded to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya by road. Here, he will have a darshan of Lord Shri Ram Lalla and perform special prayers.
His itinerary also includes visits to Hanuman Garhi and other prominent temples in Ayodhya. This marks the first time a Prime Minister of Bhutan has visited Ayodhya. It is being seen as a symbol of the cultural and religious partnership between the two nations.
Elaborate Security Arrangements
Unprecedented security arrangements have been made in Ayodhya for his visit.
- Teams from PAC, CRPF, SSF, ATS, and STF are on high alert.
- Security personnel have been deployed at all sensitive locations in the city.
- The Prime Minister's and Chief Minister's offices are closely monitoring every aspect of this visit.
- The local administration has clarified that no laxity in security will be tolerated throughout the program.
Special Luncheon Hosted in Tobgay's Honour, Then Departure for Delhi
A special luncheon has been organized in honour of Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay during his stay in Ayodhya. This luncheon will be attended by ministers from the state government, representatives from the central government, and local dignitaries. The luncheon signifies Indian culture and the 'Atithi Devo Bhava' (Guest is God) tradition. The Bhutanese Prime Minister's visit to Ayodhya will be approximately four hours long. After darshan and prayers, he will depart for Delhi around 1:30 PM. From there, he will attend his other diplomatic meetings and engagements.
