In a major decision to promote industrial development in Bihar, a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has decided to develop a total of 5 new industrial areas in Madhepura, Bakhtiyarpur in Patna, Siwan, Saharsa, and Begusarai. 2,627 acres of land will be acquired for these projects and approximately ₹812 crore will be spent. The government believes that the development of these areas will lead to increased investment, job creation, and a ber local economy.

Significant Expansion in Industrial Infrastructure

The meeting also decided to expand the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor project in Dobhi, Gaya. For this, 1,300 acres of land will be acquired, which will cost approximately ₹416 crore.
A detailed plan has been made for land acquisition in different districts. Land will be acquired for industrial development in various Mauzas of Saharsa, Madhepura, Siwan, Begusarai, Patna, and Gopalganj so that industrialists can get better infrastructure.

Focus on Airport and Transportation Facilities

The state government has decided to conduct Obstacle Limitation Surface (OLS) surveys for the construction of new airports in six districts — Birpur, Munger, Bhagalpur, Saharsa, Muzaffarpur, and Valmikinagar. ₹290 crore will be spent on this. In addition, ₹137 crore has been sanctioned for the runway expansion and installation of CAT-I lights at Gaya Airport.
The government's objective is to promote both industrial investment and tourism through better air connectivity.

Changes in Pension, Honorarium, and Agricultural Schemes

The pension for JP Senanis has been doubled — now those with less than six months of jail sentence will get ₹15,000 and those with longer sentences will get ₹30,000 per month.
The honorarium of BLOs and BLO supervisors has also been increased. Also, a modern digital database system will be prepared for farmers, which will enable them to get real-time weather and crop-related information.

Discount on Scrapping Old Vehicles

A 50% discount will be given on the registration fee of new vehicles upon scrapping old vehicles conforming to Bharat Stage-1 and 2 standards. This is expected to reduce environmental pollution and improve road safety.
Meanwhile, the Education Department has implemented a mandatory 75% attendance for students of classes 2 to 8 in the Chief Minister's Dress Scheme, which will make the distribution of benefits more transparent.
