A significant meeting of the Nitish cabinet took place on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, where a total of 24 agendas were approved. The most discussed decision was related to retired chief justices and judges of Bihar, under which the Domestic Assistance and Other Facilities Rules, 2025, were approved.
Nitish Cabinet Meeting: The cabinet meeting held in Bihar on Tuesday, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, witnessed several major decisions. A total of 24 important agendas were approved, including several significant decisions, from the grand development of Punora Dham in Sitamarhi to providing internship allowances to the youth. The biggest and most discussed decision was regarding the development of the Punora Dham temple, which is planned to be made grand, on the lines of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
For this, an amount of Rs 882.87 crore has been approved. It is believed that this project will promote religious tourism and give new impetus to the economy of Sitamarhi, including the whole of Bihar.
Approval for Marriage Houses at the Panchayat Level, Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana
The Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana was also approved in the meeting, under which marriage houses will be built in all the panchayats. Its aim is to make the marriages of daughters smooth and accessible in rural areas. Making a big change in the 'Didi Ki Rasoi' scheme, it has now been decided to provide a meal in government institutions for only Rs 20. Earlier, the price of this meal was Rs 40. The government will provide a subsidy in this so that the common people can get cheap and nutritious food.
The Chief Minister Pratigya Yojana has been approved to make the youth employable. Under this, after skill training, the 12th-pass youth will get an internship allowance of Rs 4,000 per month. At the same time, ITI and diploma holders will get Rs 5,000 and postgraduate youth will get Rs 6,000 every month. In addition, if the youth do an internship outside their home district in any other district, they will get an additional Rs 2,000, while those doing internships outside the state will get an additional assistance of Rs 5,000. This step will prove helpful in making the youth self-reliant.
The Bihar government has approved Rs 1 crore 11 lakh 60 thousand for the preservation and training of rare arts under the Chief Minister Guru-Shishya Parampara Yojana. Along with this, the Chief Minister Artist Pension Scheme has also been given the green light, under which needy artists will be given a monthly pension of Rs 3,000.
Focus on Agricultural Schemes

Domestic Assistance for Retired Judges
In the cabinet meeting, it was also decided to provide domestic assistance to retired judges and chief justices of Bihar. Under this, they will be given Rs 50,000 to Rs 55,000 per month to hire cooks, drivers, gardeners or other staff. Keeping in mind the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the cabinet has assigned the responsibility of printing ballot papers to Kolkata's Saraswati Press Limited. This is considered an important step in view of the election preparations.
The most discussed proposal is related to Punora Dham, where the birthplace of Sita Mata is believed to be. Here, an attempt will be made to bring grandeur like the Ram Temple of Ayodhya. Facilities for tourists in the temple complex, roads, electricity, water, accommodation, and rest areas for devotees will be prepared.
