Arwal: A video of students studying at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Avasiya Vidyalaya, Walidad, Kaler in the Arwal district of Bihar has gone viral on social media, causing concern for the education department and local administration. In the viral video, students are seen applying oil massage and mehndi to their Principal, Vinita Kumari. In addition to this, the students have made serious allegations against the Principal including mental and physical harassment, forcing them to perform personal chores, and misuse of school resources.
The students allege that instead of studying, they are made to cook, wash clothes, clean utensils, and even color hair. This incident has exposed the school's administrative and educational system and raised serious questions about the safety of the girls.
Principal Accused of Forcibly Making Students into Servants
Students Prabha Kumari, Suhani Kumari, Saraswati Kumari, and Anju stated, "We have come here to study, but the Principal has turned us into maids. Getting massages on beds set up in classrooms, cooking, and performing other personal tasks has become commonplace."
The students also alleged that the Principal accommodates her family and son in the hostel and uses the hostel's food supplies for personal use. Due to continuous harassment and fear, many students have left the school, while the parents of other students are preparing to bring their children home.
Video Goes Viral on Social Media
The video that went viral on social media clearly shows the Principal making students perform personal chores. The oil massage and other tasks being performed by the students in the video highlight the Principal's inappropriate behavior.
The school environment is completely disorganized, and academic activities have come to a standstill. The students say that the Principal often leaves classes to go to the hostel, affecting the standard of education and the school's disciplinary situation.
Principal's Response and Education Department's Investigative Action
Principal Vinita Kumari has vehemently denied all allegations, stating that they are baseless and are being spread solely to tarnish the image of the school. She claims that the allegations are false and fabricated.
Divisional Officer Anju Kumari stated that a complaint was received two days ago and an investigation into the matter will be conducted. If the allegations are found to be true, strict action will be taken against the concerned individual. The education department has assured to ensure the safety of the students and fix the accountability of the school administration.
