In Bihar, the RJD has leveled serious allegations of irregularities in the SIR (Special Summary Revision) process. Tejashwi Yadav claimed that JDU MLC Dinesh Singh and his MP wife Veena Devi possess two EPIC IDs each, calling it electoral fraud and demanding action from the Election Commission.
Bihar SIR Controversy: The RJD has accused the Bihar government of large-scale irregularities in the Special Summary Revision (SIR) process of voter lists. Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav publicly revealed the two EPIC IDs each of JDU MLC Dinesh Singh and his MP wife Veena Devi on social media, labeling it as electoral fraud to benefit the NDA. RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav claimed that the votes of the poor are being deleted, the names of the deceased have not been removed, and living people are being declared dead and removed from the list. The opposition has demanded a transparent investigation from the Election Commission and strict action against those responsible.
Allegation of Two EPIC IDs
The political uproar over the SIR (Special Summary Revision) process in Bihar shows no signs of abating. The RJD has accused the Election Commission of serious irregularities in the voter list. Party's chief spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav and Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav presented evidence of JDU MLC Dinesh Singh having two different EPIC IDs. Tejashwi claimed that not only Dinesh Singh, but also his wife and Vaishali MP Veena Devi, have two votes and EPIC numbers each. He questioned whether this is part of electoral fraud to benefit the NDA.
Votes of the Poor Deleted
Shakti Singh Yadav said that the votes of the poor and marginalized are being deliberately deleted in the SIR process, while the names of the deceased have not yet been removed from the list. He alleged that many living people have been declared dead and their identity has been erased.
Mocking the case of JDU MLC Dinesh Singh, he said, "These people must be voting from two places. The fault is not only theirs, but also of the Election Commission, which did not remove the two names. The commission will only act when the opposition catches a dacoity."
Tejashwi Presents EPIC Numbers
Tejashwi Yadav, while making public Dinesh Singh's two EPIC numbers (REM0933267 and UTO1134527) on social media platform X, alleged that both have the signature of the Election Commission official and it is written that the MLC himself has signed. He asked how can the same person have two votes, registered in two Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha constituencies?
Tejashwi also claimed that Dinesh Singh's wife and MP Veena Devi also has two EPIC IDs. He questioned, "Is this a conspiracy to get the NDA win through the Election Commission? Will the commission acknowledge this discrepancy and issue two separate notices?"
