India's Democracy and the Majority Hindu Society

Raghuraj Pratap Singh, alias Raja Bhaiya, Kunda MLA from Pratapgarh in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and National President of Jansatta Dal (Democratic), made a significant statement. He said that India is the world's largest democracy because it has a majority Hindu society. Citing the Pahalgam terrorist attack, he said that the attack was carried out solely targeting Hindus, without considering anyone's caste. Raja Bhaiya also added that India is secular because it is a country predominantly Hindu and Sanatan.

Referring to the amendment of the Constitution's preamble during the Emergency, Raja Bhaiya stated that constitutional amendments occur in every country in the world according to time, country, and circumstances, but there is no example of changing the preamble anywhere else. He said that the preamble was changed in India when democracy was disrupted in the country. His statement caused discussion and political stir in the Legislative Assembly.

Emphasis on Non-Violence and Tradition

Raja Bhaiya said that after independence, we were taught Ahimsa Paramo Dharma (non-violence is the ultimate duty), which is correct, but along with it, Dharma Hinsa Tathaiva Cha (violence for the sake of Dharma is also justified) is also there. Giving the example of Maha Kumbh, he said that the arrangements for the event in Prayagraj were very good, and the CM would not have visited Gorakhpur as much as he visited Prayagraj for such a big event. He said in the session that it is important to understand history and tradition and to take a serious look at socio-cultural systems.

Nation First and the Direction of the Future

Raja Bhaiya said during the 24-hour ongoing Legislative Assembly discussion that this speech was not just a formal vote of thanks. His point was that governments and leaders come and go, but the nation comes first. He highlighted the importance of considering how to move the country forward towards its global role and becoming a world leader in the modern era by 2047.
