Biplab Deb Emphasises BJP Organisation Coordination During First Madhya Pradesh Visit

Madhya Pradesh BJP in-charge Biplab Kumar Deb emphasised coordination from the state president to booth level during his first visit, while Rahul Gandhi’s Balaghat visit and BJP MP Rajesh Mishra’s samosa-making video also drew political discussion.

Madhya Pradesh’s new BJP in-charge Biplab Kumar Deb emphasised coordination within the organisation from the state president to booth-level workers during his first visit to the state. During the same period, statements by the BJP and Congress over Rahul Gandhi’s Balaghat visit and a video of BJP MP Rajesh Mishra frying samosas also remained in discussion.

The BJP appointed Biplab Kumar Deb as the new in-charge of Madhya Pradesh in September 2026. Rekha Verma was given responsibility as co-in-charge.

During Deb’s first visit, questions related to coordination among leaders within the organisation were raised. When asked about an alleged lack of coordination among senior party leaders, Deb asked who had made the claim. He subsequently said that all levels of the organisation needed to work together.

Deb said differences could exist among leaders and could be considered part of democracy, but such differences should not become public. He advised the organisation to work together from the state president to the booth level. During his first visit, meetings with senior leaders were held, along with an emphasis on contact with booth workers.

During the same period, the BJP and Congress exchanged statements in Madhya Pradesh over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Balaghat. According to the available report, Rahul Gandhi questioned the state government over the deaths of tribal children and linked the issue to government failure. The BJP raised questions over his visit.

Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Rajendra Shukla responded to Rahul Gandhi’s visit. Pradesh Congress Committee president Jitu Patwari subsequently responded to the health minister. The report claims that Patwari referred to the health minister using different surnames during his response, after which this part of the exchange also became a subject of political discussion.

A separate video of BJP MP Dr Rajesh Mishra from Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi Lok Sabha seat was also discussed. According to the report, the MP visited a samosa shop and was seen frying samosas there. He asked the shop operator about his work and financial assistance.

According to the report, the shopkeeper said he had been making samosas for around 20 years and had received financial assistance from the municipality. When the MP asked for the name of the scheme, the shopkeeper could not provide it. The MP then named the Prime Minister’s SVANidhi scheme. The incident drew different reactions on social media and in local political discussions.

Following organisational changes in the Madhya Pradesh BJP, Biplab Deb’s role will be related to coordination between the party and the organisation in the coming period. In September, Deb was appointed state in-charge and Rekha Verma co-in-charge as part of organisational changes.
