BJP Reviews Mission-2027 and MLC Poll Preparations in Lucknow, Focuses on 40,000 Booths

The BJP reviewed preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and upcoming MLC elections at a meeting in Lucknow, with a focus on strengthening the organisation at around 40,000 booths where the party lost in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP held a meeting at its Uttar Pradesh state office in Lucknow to review preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections and the upcoming MLC elections. State in-charge Vinod Tawde, four co-in-charges and senior state unit office-bearers reviewed booth-level preparations, with a focus on strengthening the organisation at around 40,000 booths where the party faced defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The first session of the meeting was held behind closed doors and was attended by state president Pankaj Chaudhary, general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh, Vinod Tawde and the four co-in-charges. A separate meeting was later held with regional presidents, in-charges and state general secretaries.

Preparations were reviewed at different organisational levels, from booths to Assembly constituencies. Party office-bearers were asked to assess the status of booths where the BJP lost in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, including booths in Assembly constituencies where the party won overall.

The party set a target of preparing a strategy for around 40,000 booths where it faced defeat in the previous Lok Sabha election. Local-level action plans for booth management and better coordination within the organisation were also discussed. Tawde had earlier issued instructions at meetings to map weaker booths and strengthen the organisation at the booth level.

The meeting also discussed organisational preparations for 11 MLC candidates from the graduate and teacher segments. Party office-bearers were asked to remain active at the ground level for these elections and improve coordination within the organisation.

Preparations for Mission-2027 also included discussions on improving coordination with NDA constituent parties up to the booth level. Strategies to keep workers active and expand the organisation's reach among as many voters as possible were also considered.

Various issues related to the electoral impact and challenges facing the organisation were discussed at the meeting. Office-bearers also reviewed programmes being conducted under the Seva Sankalp campaign.

Information was also provided about preparations for the Jal Kalash Yatra from Vadnagar, proposed to be held in Varanasi on October 7.
