CBSE introduces hybrid evaluation system for Class 10 and 12 students in Middle East after exam cancellations

The Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced a hybrid evaluation system for Class 10 and 12 students in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE after exam cancellations, combining conducted exks upload sch–June 2026.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has implemented a hybrid evaluation system for Class 10 and 12 students in Middle East countries following the cancellation of examinations, aiming to prevent academic disruption and ensure timely declaration of results.

The new evaluation model applies to students studying in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Under this system, marks from examinations that were successfully conducted will be directly included in the final results, while marks for subjects where exams could not be held will be determined using school-based assessments and averages of best-performing subjects.

The hybrid evaluation system is based on the average of students’ best-performing subjects. For subjects where examinations have already been conducted, actual marks will be counted in the final result.

For subjects without exams, marks will be awarded based on school-conducted tests, practical assessments, and internal evaluations. The framework is designed to ensure that no student is disadvantaged due to prevailing circumstances.

Students will be evaluated across three categories depending on the number of exams they have completed. If a student has appeared for four papers, marks for remaining subjects will be calculated using the average of the best three subjects.

For students who have taken three papers, the average of the best two subjects will be used. If a student has appeared for only two exams, the average of those two will be treated as the final result. Internal assessments, projects, and pre-board examination scores will also be included in the overall evaluation.

The board has directed all affiliated schools to upload student marks on the official portal between April 6 and April 13, 2026. Once submitted, no changes to the data will be permitted.

Students who are not satisfied with their awarded marks will have the option to appear for improvement examinations scheduled to be held in May–June 2026.
