CBSE is set to commence the SAFAL Assessment examination across the country from December 8. This test is designed to evaluate students' comprehension and thinking abilities. CBSE SAFAL Assessment 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting the SAFAL Assessment examination across India starting December 8. This test is designed to assess the true understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities of students from classes 6 to 9. The examination will be held in pen-paper mode and will be conducted in both Hindi and English mediums. The Board has clarified that this is not a competitive examination, but rather aims to improve students' learning process and conceptual understanding.
Objective of SAFAL Assessment
The main objective of the SAFAL examination is to reduce rote learning among children and to better assess their conceptual understanding. This examination evaluates the extent to which students understand and apply the subjects taught in class.
The Board has stated that the results will not be sent externally. Schools will analyze these results themselves to identify subjects where students are b and areas that require improvement.

Examination Schedule and Medium
Examinations for Class 9 students will commence on December 8, with Science on the first day, Language on the second day, and Mathematics on the third day. For Class 6 students, Environmental Science will be held on December 11, Language on December 15, and Mathematics on December 16.
The examination will be conducted in both Hindi and English mediums, and OMR sheets will be provided to schools. This ensures that students' true comprehension and thinking abilities can be accurately assessed.
