CM Yogi Adityanath has directed to modernize UP's fire service. A fire post will be established every 100 kilometers on all expressways in the state. New units, post creation, and modern equipment will accelerate relief operations.
UP News: Considering the increasing accidents and security needs on expressways in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a significant decision. CM Yogi has directed that a fire post (Fire Station) be established every 100 kilometers on all expressways in the state. The objective of this step is to accelerate relief and rescue operations after accidents and ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
Review Meeting of Fire Department
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a review meeting of the Fire Department on Thursday. In the meeting, he emphasized that the department should not be limited only to extinguishing fires but also be prepared for disaster management, rescue operations, and emergency services. He stated that considering the growing population, industrial expansion, and urbanization in the state, it is crucial to equip the Fire Department with modern technology and trained manpower.
Formation of Special Units in Each Region
CM Yogi directed that a specially trained unit be formed in every region, capable of handling complex situations such as chemical, biological, and radiological incidents. Additionally, these units should be ready to respond immediately in situations of fire or other disasters in super high-rise buildings.
New Recruitments in Fire Service
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also discussed the creation of new posts in the Fire Department. He stated that an Account Cadre should be established in each district to enhance the administrative capacity of the department and ensure financial transparency. Following the Chief Minister's directives, the process of creating 98 new gazetted posts and approximately 922 non-gazetted posts in the department has begun. This will increase the efficiency of the fire service at district and regional levels.
Emphasis on Training and Research
CM Yogi directed the creation of additional posts and improvement in the quality of training at the State Fire Training College. He stated that the fire service should be empowered with new technology, equipment, and research-based knowledge so that the department can become more effective over time.
Establishment of Fire Posts on Expressways
The Chief Minister stated that keeping in mind the increasing road accidents on all expressways in the state, a fire post should be established every 100 kilometers. These posts will be equipped with fire tenders and essential rescue equipment, enabling relief operations to commence within the golden hour in case of an accident.
Expansion of New Operational Units
During the meeting, officials informed that new operational units are already functioning at several locations. These include Kushinagar, Azamgarh, Shravasti, Kanpur Nagar, Ayodhya, Aligarh, Moradabad, Chitrakoot, and Sonbhadra airports. The full manpower of the fire service has been deployed here, capable of immediate action in emergencies.
Prompt Availability of Emergency Services
CM Yogi stated that prompt availability of fire and emergency services should be ensured in every district. He clarified that the fire service is a department directly connected to the safety of public life and property. Therefore, its structure should be such that it can provide immediate, efficient, and responsible responses in any situation.
Need for Time-Bound Reorganization
The Chief Minister directed that the process of reorganizing the department be completed in a time-bound manner. He stated that all corrective measures should be implemented as soon as possible, so that their benefits can reach the general public quickly. The Yogi government's aim is for the state's fire service to not only be equipped with state-of-the-art technology but also to act as the first line of defense for citizens during disasters.
