Barmer: A horrific incident unfolded on Thursday in Rajasthan's Balotra region, where a woman committed suicide along with her three innocent children. This event created a pall of silence and sorrow throughout the entire village. Local police and administrative officials immediately arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the full matter.
The deceased family included 30-year-old Mamta, wife of Anada Ram, and her three children — Naveen (8 years), Raga Ram (5 years), and six-month-old infant Manvi. The police placed the bodies in the mortuary of Nahata Hospital and began the post-mortem procedure.
Mamta Committed Suicide with Her Children
According to the information received, Mamta threw her three children into the water, killing them, and subsequently jumped into the tank herself, committing suicide. This entire sequence of events proved to be extremely heartbreaking for the local residents. Villagers stated that the family was living a normal life, and there was no information about any disputes or stress.
Police state that the exact reasons for the suicide have not yet been ascertained. However, during the investigation, all possibilities such as family discord, mental pressure, or financial hardship are being considered.
Police and Administration Initiate Investigation
Balotra police station has launched a thorough investigation into the case. Superintendent of Police Ramesh Kumar himself visited the scene and instructed officials on the investigation. In the preliminary inquiry, residents of the area and close relatives of the family are being questioned.
Police reported that the bodies would be handed over to the family members after the post-mortem, and only then would the actual reason behind the suicide be revealed.
Village Mourns After Incident
According to villagers, the family was living normally, and there was no information about any disputes. This sudden incident has plunged the entire village into deep shock.
The villagers are paying tribute to the four deceased. Police stated that the bodies would be handed over to the family after the post-mortem process is completed.
