CM Yogi Slams Opposition Over Etawah Storytellers Controversy, Highlights Economic Progress

Amidst SP's accusations regarding the Etawah storytellers controversy, CM Yogi attacked the opposition. He held previous governments responsible for promoting casteism, mafiaism, and dynastic politics.

UP News: Amidst the political heat surrounding the alleged insult of storytellers in the Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made a significant statement. Responding to the allegations made by the Samajwadi Party (SP), he launched a scathing attack on the opposition parties. While CM Yogi did not directly name the SP in connection to the controversy, the political message in his statement is clear.

Scathing attack on previous governments

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that before 2017, Uttar Pradesh was known for riots, mafia rule, and gang warfare. He said that during that time, the state had become the most unsafe for daughters and traders. Yogi also alleged that the biggest achievement of previous governments was only promoting caste conflicts and dynastic politics. He said, "Previous governments only worked for their families. The government was run on the policy of 'one district, one mafia.'"

Emphasis on the respect for storytellers

Regarding the incident with the storytellers in Etawah, the Samajwadi Party had made serious allegations against the state government. The SP, calling it an issue linked to religious sentiments, questioned the government's working methods. In response, Yogi Adityanath indirectly targeted the SP and said that respecting religious faith is the government's priority. He made it clear that no religious activity would be allowed to be insulted in the state.

Message for the youth at MSME program

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was addressing a program on the occasion of World MSME Day held in Lucknow. During this, he announced several new initiatives to provide employment and self-employment opportunities to the youth. He said that the state government wants to utilize the talent and energy of every youth in the development of the state. Yogi emphasized, "For us, it is not anyone's caste that matters, but their talent. We want to give them a platform. The CM Yuva Scheme is a major step in this direction."

Attack on caste-based politics

CM Yogi, criticizing the policies of the previous governments, said that the previous governments remained entangled in caste conflicts and the youth had to face an identity crisis. He said that now the government's focus is to provide equal opportunities to every citizen, regardless of their religion, caste, or region. He said that the double-engine government has bly implemented social justice and is trying to eliminate any kind of discrimination.

Economic progress of Uttar Pradesh

In his speech, the Chief Minister also shared the economic progress figures of the state. He said that the state's exports have now reached Rs 2 lakh crore. At the same time, the per capita income has also increased from Rs 46,000 to Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand. Yogi said that the state's GDP has increased from Rs 12 lakh 75 thousand crore to Rs 31 lakh crore. He claimed that this progress has been possible due to the schemes and transparency of the double-engine government.
