It will be a mini-auction. Prior to this, all 10 teams must release their list of released and retained players by November 15th. Amidst this, significant news has emerged from Chennai Super Kings.

CSK Players to be Released

According to a Cricbuzz report, the MS Dhoni-led CSK team has decided to release three Indian and two foreign players. The following players are included in Chennai Super Kings' release list:

  • Deepak Hooda
  • Vijay Shankar
  • Rahul Tripathi
  • Sam Curran
  • Devon Conway

MS Dhoni's Decision Still Pending

In T20 cricket, Sam Curran is known as a formidable all-rounder. With his performance, he has changed the course of matches for several teams. Curran's release could alter CSK's strategy with both bat and ball. His departure might force the team to search for a new all-rounder.

There has been no official announcement yet regarding whether MS Dhoni will play in IPL 2026. However, the CSK franchise has always made it clear that Dhoni himself will decide when to retire from the IPL. If media reports are to be believed, Dhoni might be seen on the field leading the team this season as well.

In the previous season, IPL 2025, Chennai Super Kings' performance was quite weak. Out of a total of 14 matches, the team managed to win only 4 and faced defeat in 10 matches.
