Main Allegations Raised in the Petition
The petition claimed that Sonia Gandhi got her name included in the New Delhi voter list in 1980, whereas she only obtained citizenship in 1983. The petitioner questioned the legality of including a name in the voter list without citizenship. The petition also alleged that Sonia Gandhi's name was deleted from the voter list in 1982, and asked what documents were used to add her name to the 1980 voter list after she obtained citizenship in 1983. The petitioner also expressed suspicion that forged documents might have been used.

The accusation was that she obtained a voter ID before acquiring citizenship, which could be considered improper according to election procedures and law.
