Najafgarh: In the Najafgarh area of Delhi's Dwarka district, Aman allegedly strangled his wife Rajni to death on Tuesday morning. After the murder, Aman attempted suicide but was unsuccessful and was admitted to the hospital. He died on Wednesday. The couple had been residing in a rented house in Old Roshanpura for the past four months. After an initial period of peace, disputes began to escalate, and Aman suspected Rajni of making short videos. Prior to the murder, he had informed the landlord and the police.
Husband attempted suicide after murder
According to information, Aman strangled his wife Rajni to death. Subsequently, he attempted to hang himself, but the noose broke in time. He then attempted suicide by consuming poison.
After the incident, Aman exited the house, created a commotion, and informed the landlord that he had murdered Rajni. The landlord immediately alerted the police, who then arrived at the scene.
Both were living in a rented house
According to the landlord, Rajni and Aman had been living in a rented house in Old Roshanpura, within the Najafgarh police station limits, for the past four months. Rajni was previously married to Aman's elder brother. After the elder brother's death, the family arranged the marriage between Rajni and Aman.
Initially, everything was going well, but later, disputes between the two began to increase. Aman became suspicious of Rajni. There was particular tension between them regarding Rajni's creation of short videos.
Mobile phone led to the dispute
The landlord stated that a few days prior, a dispute arose between the couple over a mobile phone. In anger, Aman broke both Rajni's and his own mobile phones. He later bought a new phone, but Rajni also started demanding a new phone.
There was a dispute between them on Monday as well. Although neighbors intervened and calmed the situation, on Tuesday morning, Aman raised an alarm in the neighborhood to report the murder.
Police began investigation at the crime scene
Upon arriving at the scene, the police have initiated an investigation into the matter. An inquiry is underway into the circumstances surrounding the hospitalized husband Aman's death. The police are also investigating whether anyone else was involved in the incident.
Statements from the landlord and neighbors are being recorded. Additionally, the forensic team has inspected the crime scene, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
