New Delhi: A 15-year-old minor in Delhi's Anand Parbat area brutally murdered four-year-old Harsh, who lived in the neighborhood. The accused took the innocent child to Ramjas Park, first broke his neck and hands, then threw him off a nearly thirty-foot-high cliff, and attacked his head and face with a stone. This incident shocked the residents of the area and created an atmosphere of anger and terror throughout the neighborhood.
The gravity of the incident put the local administration on high alert. Police immediately launched an investigation and examined CCTV footage from the surrounding areas. During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused's intention to lure Harsh to Ramjas Park was premeditated.
Harsh Beaten and Thrown in the Jungle
Police stated that Harsh was returning home from tuition and playing outside his house. That's when the minor, who lived in the neighborhood, lured him to the jungle-like area of Ramjas Park. Upon reaching the park, the accused broke the innocent child's hands and neck.
Subsequently, the accused threw the child off a 30-foot-high cliff. When the child's condition became critical and he started screaming, the accused picked up a stone and struck the child's head and face multiple times. Leaving Harsh, who was severely bleeding, there, the accused returned home.
Minor Arrested Based on CCTV Footage
When Harsh did not return home for a long time, his mother filed a complaint with the police. CCTV footage from the area was reviewed, showing Harsh walking towards the park with the accused minor. Police immediately took the minor into custody, and based on his confession, Harsh was recovered from the park in a critical condition.
The child was immediately rushed to the hospital and kept on a ventilator overnight. Doctors made every possible effort to save him, but Harsh succumbed to his injuries due to severe head trauma and excessive bleeding. Police registered a case against the minor under Section 137(2) (Kidnapping) and 103(2) (Murder).
Harsh's Murder Driven by Revenge
During police interrogation, it was revealed that Harsh's father had complained to the accused minor's father that his son was seen stealing the landlord's bike. Following this, the accused's father had slapped him.
This incident gave rise to feelings of anger and revenge in the minor's mind. He systematically lured Harsh to the park and murdered him. Police stated that such a violent crime at such a young age is shocking.
Panic in the Area Due to Violent Incident
This heinous incident shook the entire neighborhood. People are in shock, wondering why an innocent life was taken merely for a slap. Neighbors reported that the accused boy was often involved in disputes previously and his behavior was frequently disruptive.
Additional DCP Central Rishi Kumar stated that the accused has been arrested and the investigation into the case is ongoing. It is being examined how such a violent tendency developed within the minor and if his behavior is related to any other incidents. The administration has also assured that security will be enhanced in the area, and special surveillance will be maintained for the safety of children.
