Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura on Monday. In Itanagar, he will lay the foundation stone for several development projects costing over Rs 5100 crore and address a public gathering.

During this visit, he will lay the foundation stone for several development projects worth over Rs 5,100 crore and address public meetings. PM Modi's visit is considered significant for regional development in the areas of energy, infrastructure, and tourism.
Launch of Development Projects in Arunachal Pradesh
The Prime Minister arrived at Donyi Polo Airport in Holongi at around 9 AM. From there, he proceeded to Indira Gandhi Park, where several important development projects will be inaugurated and their foundation stones laid. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for two major hydropower projects in Itanagar – Tato-I (186 MW) and Heo (240 MW). The total cost of the Tato-I project is Rs 1,750 crore and it will be jointly developed by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO). This project is expected to produce an estimated 8,020 lakh units of electricity annually.
The Heo hydropower project costs Rs 1,939 crore and will also be jointly developed by the state government and NEEPCO. This project is estimated to produce 10,000 lakh units of electricity annually. The completion of both these projects will strengthen energy security in the region and create employment opportunities.
Inauguration of Convention Centre in Tawang at a Cost of Rs 145 Crore
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Convention Centre built under the PM-DevINE scheme in Tawang, at a cost of Rs 145.37 crore. This center will be capable of accommodating over 1,500 people and has been designed to global standards. This convention center will create new opportunities for tourism and cultural activities. According to officials, the center will prove to be extremely important for cultural events, conferences, and business meetings.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will launch infrastructure projects costing over Rs 1,290 crore. These projects will benefit sectors such as connectivity, health, and fire safety. PM Modi will also discuss the impact of rational reforms in GST rates with local taxpayers, traders, and industry representatives.
Development of Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex in Tripura
Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the development work of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple complex located at Matabari in Tripura. This ancient temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths and is situated in Udaipur town of Gomati district. Under this project, a three-storey complex will be constructed within the temple premises, including new pathways, renovated entrances and fences, drainage systems, stalls, meditation rooms, guest accommodation, and office rooms.
The project's design resembles the shape of a tortoise from above, and its objective is to promote spiritual tourism, employment generation, and socio-economic development in the region.
