Delhi-NCR Weather Update: Relief Expected with Light Rain; Heavy Rain Alert in Other States

Relief from the intense humidity and heat is expected in Delhi-NCR. According to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rain is likely in Delhi and surrounding areas (Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, etc.) on Thursday (July 31st).

Weather Forecast: People troubled by the intense humidity and heat in the capital Delhi and its surrounding areas are expected to get relief soon. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain in Delhi-NCR from August 1st to August 5th, 2025. This is likely to cause a drop in temperature and make the weather pleasant in the region. Meanwhile, in other parts of the country—such as Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttar Pradesh—heavy rains are becoming a disaster for people.

Light Rain to Bring Relief in Delhi-NCR

For the past few days, Delhi residents have been troubled by the scorching heat and humidity. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature was recorded around 38°C, which is about 3°C above normal. The Meteorological Department has indicated that from Thursday onwards, the entire NCR region (Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad) will be cloudy and light rain may be observed in some places.

Along with this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Delhi-NCR at the beginning of next week, which will provide relief from the heat and improve the air quality in the region.

Alert for Heavy Rain in Several Districts of Uttar Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of moderate to heavy rain and lightning in some parts of Uttar Pradesh. In particular, districts such as Bareilly, Banda, Aligarh, Hardoi, Kanpur, Chitrakoot, Unnao, Kannauj, Fatehpur, and Bijnor are likely to experience heavy rain on Thursday. The IMD has issued a warning to the local administration and appealed to people not to go out into open areas during the rain, and to stay in safe places during thunderstorms.

Flood-like Situation in Rajasthan, Red Alert Issued in Several Districts

Due to continuous heavy rains in several districts of Rajasthan, waterlogging and flood-like situations have arisen in low-lying areas. On Wednesday, the IMD issued a red alert in Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, and Bikaner divisions. There is a possibility of very heavy rain in some places in Bharatpur, Jaipur, and Ajmer for the next 48 hours.

A forecast of moderate to heavy rain has been issued for the Bikaner division, which may continue until August 1st. The intensity of the rain is expected to decrease after August 2nd, but waterlogging on roads and traffic disruptions may persist until then. The state government has kept NDRF and SDRF in alert mode, and relief work has been started in the affected areas.

Amarnath Yatra Postponed Due to Heavy Rain in Jammu & Kashmir

The Amarnath Yatra has been postponed from July 30th due to continuous heavy rain in Jammu & Kashmir. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the pilgrims due to landslides and poor road conditions on the two major routes of the Yatra—Pahalgam and Baltal. The Jammu & Kashmir Department of Information and Public Relations shared this information through a post on the social media platform 'X'.

The department wrote: "Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra on July 30, 2025, has been suspended from both routes, Pahalgam and Baltal, due to inclement weather." Officials also said that the Yatra will not be resumed until the weather improves.
