Delhi Police Busts Illegal Gambling Dens, Arrests 17 Suspects

Delhi's Outer District Police apprehended 17 individuals in two phases of raids on illegal gambling dens, seizing thousands of rupees in cash and gambling paraphernalia.

New Delhi: In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the Delhi Outer District Police conducted raids on gambling dens operating in various parts of the city. A total of 17 suspects were arrested, and thousands of rupees in cash were recovered during this operation. The police stated that this action is part of their continuous surveillance against organized crime and illegal gambling.

Illegal Gambling Busted in West Vihar, Two Arrested

Under the instructions of the DCP Outer District, police intensified patrolling and surveillance in sensitive areas. Teams from West Vihar West police station raided premises near Nehru Market and Bagh Wala Park in Jwala Puri. During patrolling, Head Constables Sujan and Suresh received information about illegal gambling taking place in the park.

As the police arrived, the accused attempted to flee, but two individuals were apprehended. During the search, thousands of rupees in cash and gambling materials were recovered. An FIR number 378/2025 was registered in connection with this action. The police declared that this operation serves as a stern warning against gambling in the district.

Raids and Arrests in Nangloi in Two Phases

Nangloi police station also conducted operations in two phases. In the first phase, two individuals were apprehended from the Swarn Park Industrial Area, and cash along with gambling materials were recovered from the spot. The second phase involved action against a gambling den operating under the Sultanpuri Road Flyover, where two more people were arrested.

FIR numbers 348/2025 and 347/2025 were registered in these two cases. The police clarified that the objective of these operations is not just to make arrests but to dismantle the gambling network entirely. Officials stated that the investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to identify other suspects.

Accused Caught Red-Handed

Mongolpuri police station conducted raids at three different locations. Two individuals were apprehended each from L-Block and D-Block Valmiki Park, while seven people were caught red-handed in G-Block. Cash, gambling documents, and equipment were recovered from all these locations.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Ritik (24), Hari Singh (52), Pushpinder (32), Vicky (38), Amarjeet (26), Shambhu (44), Hari Chand (42), Raman Singh (25), another (29), Salman Khan (30), Rohan Soni (19), Haseen Ahmed (47), Dinesh Chandra (38), Akash (25), Atiq Ahmed (45), Dinesh (33), and Arman (19). All of them are residents of different areas of Delhi.

Surveillance on Illegal Gambling and Crime Continues in the District

The police reiterated that continuous surveillance will be maintained on organized crime and illegal activities within the district. Patrolling and raids will continue to ensure that citizens can live in a safe environment. Officials warned that individuals involved in gambling and other illegal activities will not be spared under any circumstances.

Further investigation will focus on determining the extent of the network of the arrested individuals and identifying other areas where illegal gambling activities are taking place. The police have also appealed to local citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police for prompt action against offenders.
