An interesting incident occurred in Bhagwa Pasi Tola, under the Gauri Bazar police station area of Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh. 50-year-old Premchand, a professional snake catcher, was bitten by a venomous snake. While descending stairs after catching the snake, he was holding it in his other hand when it bit him. Premchand was brought to the emergency ward of Maharshi Deoraha Baba Medical College, accompanied by the snake. The snake was kept enclosed in a plastic box, which created a stir at the hospital. Doctors immediately began his treatment and safely secured the snake.
Premchand stated that he had learned the art of snake catching in Pune during his youth. To date, he has caught over 1000 snakes and has been bitten more than 30 times. Each time, he has survived after receiving treatment. This incident also highlights the significant risks involved in this profession for snake catchers.
The snake catcher's name is Premchand (father: Sarfu), approximately 50 years old, from Sirjam village, Gauri Bazar area. In his career, he has caught over 1000 snakes and has been bitten more than 30 times.
