Former SP MP Dr. ST Hasan stated that India and Pakistan were originally one home. The language, culture, and cuisine are similar. The partition was merely political; the bond of hearts and shared culture remains intact even today.
UP News: Former SP MP Dr. ST Hasan has made a significant statement regarding Pakistan and India. He said that Pakistan and India were originally one home, but unfortunately, a partition occurred. He stated that it was our misfortune that this division happened due to political reasons. Dr. Hasan added that there is no significant difference between the two countries in terms of language, culture, cuisine, and lifestyle. This is why when an Indian visits Pakistan, they don't feel like a stranger; instead, they feel as if they are in their own home.
Similarities in Language, Culture, and Cuisine
Dr. Hasan elaborated that the Ganga-Jamuni 'tehzeeb' (composite culture) of the Indian subcontinent can still be seen equally in India and Pakistan today. He stated that the partition was only of political borders, not of hearts and 'tehzeeb' (culture). A glimpse of India is also found in the streets, markets, and behavior of people in Pakistan. The language spoken there is the same language spoken here, and festivals, rituals, and social values are almost identical. Dr. Hasan stated that due to these cultural similarities, one feels a sense of belonging when visiting there, and people instinctively feel connected.
Cultural Heritage and Shared Identity
The former MP said that the shared heritage of the Indian subcontinent, encompassing literature, music, folk art, and food, as well as social customs, is equally present in both countries. He also added that politics and borders have separated us, but the bond of hearts and 'tehzeeb' (culture) never breaks. He stated that no matter how much the world changes, cultural ties always remain alive. Dr. Hasan reiterated that the partition was only of political borders, not of the sense of belonging and shared 'tehzeeb' (shared culture) among people.
A Glimpse of India in Pakistan
Dr. Hasan stated that if anyone visits Pakistan, they will see a glimpse of India in its streets, markets, and people's behavior. The language, festivals, rituals, and social customs there are similar to those in India. This is why Indians feel as if they are in their own country when they are there. He also added that cultural and social similarities connect people's hearts, and no political division can break this shared 'tehzeeb' (shared culture).
Dr. Hasan clarified that the partition was merely a result of political borders. He stated that the hearts and 'tehzeeb' (culture) of Pakistan and India were never distant. Similarities in the Ganga-Jamuni culture and lifestyle of both countries persist even today.
