Faridabad Government Schools to Launch New Vocational Courses in Beauty, Retail, Banking, and IT

New vocational courses will be launched in government schools in Faridabad. Students will be taught skills such as beauty, retail, banking, and IT. This initiative will enable students to become self-reliant after schooling.

UP: In government schools in Faridabad, students will now be able to learn not only academic knowledge but also vocational skills. New vocational courses are being introduced in Model Culture, PM Shri, and Senior Secondary Schools. This initiative is being undertaken with the aim of making students self-reliant after schooling.

The District Education Department has established Skill Centers of Excellence in 55 schools. Beauty and Wellness, and Retail courses are already being conducted in these centers. Now, new courses such as Banking, Information Technology, and Physical Activity Trainer will also be included.

Inclusion of Vocational Skills in Schools

Students in government schools will be provided vocational skill training along with education. The Directorate of Education has issued orders to the schools to share information about the number of students and teachers, facilities, and other details. This will ensure that the new courses can be started smoothly.

Skill Centers of Excellence have been set up in 55 Government Senior Secondary, PM Shri, and Model Culture Schools in Faridabad and Ballabgarh blocks. Beauty and Wellness, and Retail courses are already running in these. Now the education department has started preparations for new courses.

New Courses: Banking, IT, and Physical Activity Training

Students will now also be able to learn courses such as Banking, Information Technology, and Physical Activity Trainer. On August 19, the Directorate of Education issued a letter to the schools providing information about the conduct of new courses. This step will provide students with vocational skills along with their schooling.

The Beauty and Wellness course has already been launched in the academic session 2025-26 at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Samaypur. Meanwhile, Banking and Beauty Wellness courses will be available to students at PM Shri Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Tigao.

National Education Policy and Skill Development

Under the National Education Policy (NEP), government schools have been designated as centers of excellence in skills. The objective is that students can become self-reliant on the strength of their skills after schooling.

Under this initiative, students will be taught various vocational and technical skills. This will not only increase their chances of getting a job but also enable them to start small businesses or startups.

Preparation of Teachers and Resources

Principal Roop Kishore said that due to the shortage of teachers, teachers from other schools will conduct additional classes to train students. New courses are being started based on student demand, so that they can choose courses according to their interests and be ready to build a career in the future.
