Fatehpur Villagers Beat Man, Citing Theft Accusations: Police Investigate

A new turn appears to be unfolding in the case of a young man being hung upside down from a tree and beaten in Chhimi village, Khaga Kotwali area, Fatehpur district, Uttar Pradesh. The video of the incident went viral on social media, raising questions about the role of the police and administration. The young man has been identified as Naresh Pasi, who was publicly beaten by the villagers.

However, the villagers have now come forward and given their explanation to the media. The villagers claim that Naresh Pasi had been accused of theft several times and had been involved in criminal activities in the village for a long time. They stated that a climate of fear had been created in the village due to Naresh. The villagers also claimed that they had informed the police several times, but no action was taken, leading them to take strict action themselves out of frustration.

Attempted Burglary in a House

Regarding the incident, the villagers said that recently, Naresh Pasi, along with two accomplices, entered the house of Rajaram, a resident of Piparha Purwa village, with the intention of theft. The female member of the house woke up and raised an alarm, which gathered the neighbors. Naresh's two accomplices fled the scene, but the villagers caught Naresh and, in a fit of anger, tied him to a tree and beat him.

Although the villagers' arguments are in place, taking the law into one's own hands cannot be justified in any situation. After the viral video, the police took action and started investigating the matter. So far, the police have arrested five people in this case and further investigation is ongoing.

Strict Action Will Be Taken Against Those Who Took the Law into Their Own Hands

The Fatehpur police have stated that they are investigating the matter seriously. Maintaining law and order is the responsibility of the administration, and no one can be allowed to take justice into their own hands. Police officials said that the law is the same for everyone, whether it is the accused or the villagers who beat him, and legal action will be taken against the culprits.
