Freight Train Fire at Pipar Road Yard Averted After Brake Jam in Jodhpur Division

A moving freight train caught fire at Pipar Road Yard in the Jodhpur railway division on Tuesday after a brake block on one wagon jammed, causing friction near the wheels. The train, which had departed from Jodhpur, was stopped within the yard following an emergency warning, preventing a larger incident.

Gate number C-141 gateman Aamdeen noticed flames and smoke rising from the wagon and immediately alerted the guard and loco pilot by displaying a red flag. The loco pilot, who was initially unaware of the danger, applied emergency brakes and halted the train in the yard.

After the train was stopped, technical staff and railway officials were informed. An inspection confirmed that the brake block had jammed, leading to friction and the outbreak of fire. The technical team rectified the fault, and the train was allowed to proceed only after a complete safety check.

Railway officials stated that the timely warning and swift action prevented a major accident. Senior railway अधिकारियों praised gateman Aamdeen for his alertness and sense of responsibility. The railway administration has ordered a detailed inspection of brake systems and reiterated instructions to field staff to closely monitor moving trains and take immediate action in emergencies.
