French Open 2025: Lois Boisson's Meteoric Rise in WTA Rankings

French tennis player, Lois Boisson, who delivered a stellar performance at the French Open, has significantly improved her ranking. The latest WTA rankings released on Monday show a remarkable jump of 296 places, propelling her to 65th position.

Tennis Rankings 2025: The conclusion of Roland Garros (French Open 2025) witnessed significant changes in the tennis world rankings. While Italy's Jannik Sinner retained the number one position in the men's ATP rankings, France's rising star, Lois Boisson, stunned everyone with a historic leap in the women's WTA rankings. Boisson climbed 296 places to reach the 65th position.

Sinner Secures Top Spot Despite Loss

In the historic and longest final match of the French Open 2025, Italy's Jannik Sinner faced defeat at the hands of Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz. The match lasted nearly 5 hours, with Alcaraz winning his second French Open title. However, despite the final loss, Sinner's ranking remained unaffected, maintaining his top spot in the ATP rankings with a 2030-point lead.

Carlos Alcaraz remains in second place despite his victory. He is followed by Germany's Alexander Zverev in third, Britain's Jack Draper in fourth, and Serbia's Novak Djokovic in fifth.

Lois Boisson: From Wildcard to Ranking Storm

The biggest sensation in the women's WTA rankings was created by young French player Lois Boisson. Before the French Open, she was ranked 361st in the world, but her run to the semi-finals catapulted her to 65th position. This is considered the biggest jump in the rankings this year.

Boisson surprised the tennis world by defeating third-seeded Jessica Pegula and sixth-seeded Mirra Andreeva during the tournament. However, her semi-final match was against Coco Gauff, who defeated her to reach the final and ultimately win her first French Open title.

Sabalenka's Dominance Continues, Gauff's Impressive Leap

Despite her French Open loss, Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus remains at the top of the WTA rankings. Her total points remain high enough to secure her top spot even after the final defeat. French Open champion Coco Gauff earned a significant number of points from this tournament and has now moved up to second place. Her compatriot Jessica Pegula remains in third.

This season has been disappointing for Novak Djokovic, once an invincible player. His early exit from the French Open has pushed him further down the rankings to fifth place. Injury and a dip in form have made this a challenging year for him.

After the French Open, tennis fans are now looking towards Wimbledon 2025. This prestigious tournament, played on grass courts, will be a golden opportunity for many players to climb the rankings or defend their positions.
