Union Minister and BJP's firebrand leader Giriraj Singh has sharply retaliated against the statement by Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Humayun Kabir regarding the laying of the foundation stone for the Babri Masjid in West Bengal.

Patna: Union Minister and BJP's firebrand leader Giriraj Singh has bly retaliated against Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir. Humayun Kabir had spoken of laying the foundation stone for the Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, to which Giriraj Singh alleged that TMC is not building a mosque, but rather laying the foundation stone for 'Bangladesh' in West Bengal. He also claimed that Mamata Banerjee's government is running on the support of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas. Along with this, Giriraj Singh also warned that politics on the corpses of Hindus will not last long.

Humayun Kabir Announces Babri Masjid Foundation

This controversy began when TMC MLA Humayun Kabir announced that he would lay the foundation stone for the Babri Masjid in Beldanga, Murshidabad district, on December 6, 2025. December 6 marks the 33rd anniversary of the demolition of the disputed structure in Ayodhya. Kabir stated, “We will lay the foundation stone for the Babri Masjid in Murshidabad district on December 6.

It will take approximately three years to complete. Many Muslim leaders will participate in this event.” His statement has stirred a commotion in political and religious circles.

Giriraj Singh's Sharp Retaliation

Union Minister Giriraj Singh said on Tuesday, “The Trinamool Congress is not laying the foundation stone for the Babri Masjid, but rather for Bangladesh in Bengal. Hindus of Bengal should not forget that Mamata Banerjee and her government are running on the support of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas. The way politics is being done on the corpses of Hindus will not last long.

Following Giriraj Singh's statement, there has been significant commotion in political circles. He described it as an example of Trinamool's policy and their alleged indifference towards Hindus.

BJP Leaders Also Express Displeasure

BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey also condemned Humayun Kabir's statement, terming it a “destructive mindset.” He said, such people are trying to disturb social peace. Neither a temple nor a mosque will be built in the name of Babar. This will never be accepted. BJP leaders believe that this statement is provocative to the social and religious sentiments of West Bengal.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Udit Raj supported Humayun Kabir. He said that if the foundation stone for a temple can be laid, why not for a mosque as well? Udit Raj stated, “Those who are opposing this are making baseless speculations. Politics should not be done in the name of religion and faith. This has intensified the debate between both major political parties.
