Hardoi: On Sunday evening, a healing prayer meeting was organized in a house in Bhawpurwa village, under the Sandi police station area. During this gathering, attempts were being made to persuade poor families to convert their religion through money and inducements. Upon receiving information, the police reached the spot and arrested eight people. The atmosphere became tense when Bajrang Dal activists also arrived.
Eight Accused Arrested in Religious Conversion Case
Following the information, police took swift action and apprehended those present at the gathering. A candle was burning and a Bible was found at the scene. Police stated that the arrested accused include eight individuals from various villages. All were arrested under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act.
