IBPS PO Prelims 2025 Result Expected Soon; Mains Exam in October

IBPS PO Pre Exam 2025 Result to be Released Soon. Candidates who pass the cutoff marks in the prelims will appear for the main examination. The scorecard can be checked and downloaded by logging in to ibps.in.

IBPS PO Pre Result 2025: The result of the Probationary Officer (PO) Prelims Exam 2025 can be announced by IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) soon. Candidates who secure the prescribed cutoff marks in this examination will be considered qualified for the Main Exam. The Mains Exam is scheduled to be held in October 2025. A total of 5208 posts will be filled through this recruitment process.

Prelims Exam Date

The IBPS PO Pre Exam 2025 was conducted on August 17, 23, and 24, 2025, at various examination centers across the country. Lakhs of candidates participated in this examination. Now, after the successful completion of the exam, candidates are eagerly awaiting the result announcement.

According to media reports and analysts, as the Mains Exam is scheduled for October, the result may be announced by the end of this month.

Result to be Released Online Only

The Prelims exam result will be released online only by IBPS. Candidates will have to check their scorecard by logging in to the official website ibps.in. No candidate will be sent the result or scorecard individually.

Only Successful Candidates in Prelims Exam Will Qualify for Mains

Candidates who score the prescribed cutoff marks in the preliminary examination will get an opportunity to appear for the main examination. The cutoff marks will be determined based on different categories (General, OBC, SC, ST). Candidates are advised to be fully prepared for the Mains exam based on their preparation and expected score.

How to Check IBPS PO Pre Result 2025

Candidates can follow the steps given below as soon as the Prelims result is released.

  • First, visit the official website ibps.in.
  • Click on the result link in the recent updates on the website's homepage.
  • On the new page, log in by entering your registration number or roll number, password, and date of birth.
  • After logging in, your scorecard will open on the screen.
  • Candidates can check, download, and print it.

Changes in Main Exam Pattern

This year, IBPS has made a change in the pattern of the PO Main Exam 2025. Earlier, a total of 155 questions were asked, but now it has been limited to 145 questions.

The time duration has also been reduced. Earlier, candidates were given 180 minutes to solve the questions, but now only 160 minutes will be given. Candidates will have to prepare keeping this change in mind.

The subjects to be asked in the main examination are as follows –

  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning & Logical Ability
  • English Language
  • General Awareness
  • Computer Knowledge and other subjects

Selection Process

The selection process for IBPS PO recruitment will be in three phases –

  • Tier-1 Prelims Exam: Only candidates who achieve the prescribed cutoff marks will qualify for the next stage.
  • Tier-2 Mains Exam: Candidates who pass Tier-1 will appear for the main examination.
  • Interview (Viva/Personal Interview): Candidates successful in Tier-2 will be called for an interview.

A final merit list will be prepared based on all these stages. Candidates whose names appear on the final list will be appointed to the posts of Probationary Officer/Management Trainee.

Total Vacancy Details

A total of 5208 posts will be filled through the IBPS PO 2025 recruitment. The category-wise distribution of these posts is as follows –

  • Unreserved (UR): 2610 posts
  • OBC (NCL): 1350 posts
  • SC: 780 posts
  • ST: 468 posts
