Indians in Iran Helpline Numbers: Given the ongoing tense situation between Iran and Israel, the Indian government has initiated the safe evacuation of its citizens stranded there. The safety of Indian nationals, especially students, residing in Tehran and other sensitive areas in Iran is being prioritized. The Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Tehran are jointly conducting the relief and rescue operation. Under this operation, 110 students have so far been safely evacuated from Iran to Armenia.
Immediate Rescue Operation Launched as Situation Deteriorates in Tehran
The situation in Tehran is continuously worsening. Missile strikes have been exchanged between Israel and Iran for the past five days. Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy expedited the process of relocating students residing in and around Tehran to safer locations. Students facing immediate danger were prioritized in the initial phase of the evacuation, which was carried out via Armenia.
Ministry of External Affairs Statement
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued an official statement explaining that the process of safely evacuating Indians stranded in Iran is ongoing in a phased manner. The ministry stated that 110 students have been evacuated so far. Other Indian citizens have been advised to proceed to safer locations if they can leave Tehran using their own resources.
High Number of Kashmiri Students
According to the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association, out of approximately 110 Indian students studying at Urmia Medical College in Tehran, 90 are from Kashmir. All these students have now safely reached Armenia. The students were evacuated across the Iranian border. The embassy's local team played a crucial role in this operation.
New Advisory Possible Given the Severity of the Situation
The Ministry of External Affairs has stated that a new advisory may be issued soon, given the current circumstances. Students and other citizens have been advised to pay attention to and act according to the information provided by the embassy and the Ministry of External Affairs.

Fifth Day of Conflict: Situation Remains Tense
The tension between Iran and Israel is in its fifth day. Both countries have attacked each other repeatedly. Approximately 250 people have died in these attacks so far.
