Rouse Avenue Court Acquits Arvind Kejriwal Manish Sisodia and 23 Others in Excise Policy Case

The Rouse Avenue Court has acquitted former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and 23 accused in the excise policy case, stating that it did not find sufficient evidence of conspiracy.

Following the verdict, political activity intensified. Inside the courtroom, Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia embraced their lawyer and were seen with tears in their eyes.

After the judgment was pronounced, Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia addressed the media. Both appeared emotional during their interaction.

Arvind Kejriwal said that truth had prevailed. Expressing confidence in the judicial system, he stated that the truth can never be suppressed and that the court’s decision proved that he is not corrupt.

Kejriwal further said that senior leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party were sent to jail in an attempt to finish the party. He alleged that false cases were filed against political opponents for the sake of power.

He stated that if anyone seeks power, it should be earned by doing good work and winning the trust of the people. He said the country faces several serious problems that need resolution and added that the nation will not progress through false cases.

Kejriwal said he has earned only honesty in his life and that the court’s decision has now established this. He also referred to Manish Sisodia and party workers.

Manish Sisodia expressed satisfaction with the verdict. He said that justice may have taken time, but truth had prevailed. He thanked his supporters and family.

Sisodia had remained in jail for a long period in connection with the case. After the verdict, he was seen with Kejriwal as they exited the court and embraced each other.

Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Arvind Kejriwal, also reacted to the verdict. On social media platform X, she wrote that truth always prevails. She said that no matter how powerful someone becomes, they cannot rise above truth and strength.

During the proceedings, the court made observations regarding the Central Bureau of Investigation. The court stated that it did not find sufficient evidence of any larger conspiracy or criminal intent in the excise policy matter.

The judge also raised questions over certain words used in the charge sheet. The court objected to the use of the term “South Group” and asked whether the same term would have been used if the charge sheet had been filed in another city. The court further observed that the documents presented did not match the charge sheet.
